New ‘Skeleton Crew’ Images Show the Cast Exploring the Galaxy

While less than two months away from its premiere on Disney Plus, details about the upcoming series Skeleton Crew are still sparse. The series will feature a group of kids swept up from their comfortable life into an adventure across the galaxy, meeting pirates and other dangers as they travel aboard a mysterious starship.

Starwars.com quietly added a few new images to their official gallery for the series, showing the young cast in different scenarios across their adventures. So, let’s have a look at the images and see what crumbs of new information we can glean from them.

Official still from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew showing Tunde Adebimpe looking at the stars

Let’s start with the one we know least about. In this still we see Tunde Adebimpe’s character looking up at the stars. We don’t have a name for his character yet and he doesn’t appear in the official trailer but his character did appear in the footage shown at Celebration, in which we saw the Twisters actor in what looked like a law enforcement office looking for the kids. My instinct was then that he is one of the parents and this image of him gazing up at the stars certainly plays into that image of a father wondering where in the galaxy his child might be. There’s plenty of greenery in the background which would fit with the kids’ home planet shown in the trailer, which I suspect is Mon Mothma’s home planet, and possible New Republic capital, Chandrilla.

In this image we see the full cast of kids. Can I just briefly pause and say that I am just for the first time noticing that Neel has hair!! Somehow in all the previous shots I’d never noticed this before but with his head tilted down it’s clear he has a full mop of blue hair on the top of his head, which kinda looks like actor Robet Timothy Smith’s hairstyle! In this scene we see the characters in some kind of clearing in what looks like a ‘well, what do we do now?’ kind of situation with the two girls staring down Wim who has his arms crossed. The backpack dumped on the floor suggests that they’ve been hiking in these woods for a while and are maybe lost.

In this shot we see Wim who’s clearly had a fall or some other misadventure as his clothes and face are caked in mud. This looks like a continuation of the previous scene as the ground has the same forest detritus as the previous scene. He is also carrying the backpack that was on the floor in the other image. Perhaps the group have parted ways and Wim has gotten lost and is now wondering where his friends are. I would also mention Wim’s jacket as Neel is seen wearing an identical one in the trailer – perhaps this is their school uniform?

The last image shows Neel (again, the hair!) and Wim on a more urban planet, or possible a spaceport as we see one in the trailer, in what looks like some kind of marketplace. This could be the Mos Eisley moment for the group as they are suddenly thrust into a dangerous world that they are unprepared for. The two look like they are talking to someone and Wim definitely looks wary of whoever it is.

All will be revealed when Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premiers on Disney Plus December 3rd. Until then keep your eyes on Star Wars News Net for all the latest news and reveals
