Ben Burtt, well-known Star Wars Sound Designer who created such iconic sounds as R2-D2’s beeping communication and Darth Vader’s breathing, is being honored by the Locarno Film Festival at its 2024 edition with the Vision Award Ticinomoda, a prize dedicated to creatives whose work has extended the horizons of cinema. San Diego Comic-Con is underway! It’s a quiet year for Lucasfilm and Star Wars, but they still brought out the guns for their Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away panel. Cast and crew from Star Wars Outlaws, along with authors from the High Republic, shared details on what they’ve been working on. As usual, this comes with tasty reveals; this year was no exception. The panel was limited in the first half, focusing on Outlaws and things we’ve mostly already heard about the upcoming game. The fifth episode of The Acolyte brought the lightsaber action we were all craving for in a show set during the time with the most Jedi around we’ve had in live-action Star Wars yet. “Night” was the payoff to the cliffhanger from the previous episode, and it did not disappoint.
