The Bad Batch To Make Surprise Return in Upcoming Novel ‘Star Wars: Sanctuary’

Christmas has come early in the form of a surprise new Star Wars book announcement. According to an updated listing from Penguin Random House UK, the Bad Batch will be getting their own novel titled Star Wars: Sanctuary. Authored by Lamar Giles (From a Certain Point of View), the book will be released on August 5, 2025. What makes this particular listing interesting is that it appears to be the only such one, at the time of writing, that has been updated past its codename placeholder of “Tanner” or “Untitled Star Wars August Novel.” Therefore, while this is an official listing, we recommend keeping expectations relatively in check until more is revealed. Typically, once these listings appear online, an announcement is imminent so expect it by the end of the year or in early January. In ...

‘Skeleton Crew’ Showrunners Praise Lucasfilm

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew showrunners Jon Watts and Christopher Ford have revealed that they were having constant “pinch me, I must be dreaming” moments while making their story in the galaxy far, far away. Talking with ComicBook.com – a representative of whom just saw the first three episodes of the series and interview about them – the Skeleton Crew showrunners were asked about if they had any moments where they felt like they were in a dream instead of being on the set of the galaxy far, far away. They explained that it was hard to pin down a single moment because there were just so many, but they particularly appreciated meeting longtime Lucasfilm creatives: Watts: It’s weird, because that would happen all the time.Ford: Like, constantly!Watts: It’s one of those things where when you...

Rey Skywalker Is the Key to ‘Star Wars’ Cinematic Future

Lucasfilm has one movie star under its belt right now: the character of Rey Skywalker. That’s the conclusion of a new article in The Hollywood Reporter, a post-mortem analysis of the news last week about Simon Kinberg taking over as writer/producer of a new trilogy of Star Wars movies for Disney/Lucasfilm. Though Daisy Ridley’s return as the character has only been confirmed for one movie, THR is saying that she’s expected to appear in several of the feature films that are in development — though they were unable to confirm which ones. A report last week said that she’s supposed to be the Obi-Wan of the new trilogy, meaning she will have a mentor supporting role. THR even suggested that some of the filmmakers working for Lucasfilm are “jostling” to feature the character in their project...
